Looking for some recommendations as we have a free pass for one NT visit!

One 7yr old DD and me and DH. Would love a good play area and cafe. We live in the Wye Valley right on the border of Wales and England, happy to drive an hour or so in any direction ☺️ Thanks in advance!

Powis castle is lovely. We stopped off there on our way into Wales. Lots of grounds for walks. Not sure if this is in the area you are thinking.

Thank you for the suggestion, it’s about 2hr from me, I’m near The Forest of Dean/Ross on Wye.

Hopeful bump!

Croome, very child friendly, huge grounds, play area and usually something interesting in the house. And two cafes.

Tyntesfield is amazing, slightly longer drive (90 mins) but so much to see.

FlyingFlamingo · 28/09/2023 19:27

Tyntesfield or Dyrham Park - both have good play areas and are easy to get to from the motorway

NoSquirrels · 28/09/2023 19:29

Croft Castle.

Oooh thanks everyone! Enjoying myself browsing the nice cosy-looking website full of gilet-clad families laughing in maze hedges!
