How do you get into an electronic safe...

....When the battery is dead.
I’m in the process of going through my late parents possessions. There is an electronic safe for which the battery has died. It contains some of my mums jewellery- not a massive value but more sentimental. I know the code for it but obviously that’s useless to me now. Is there anyway to get it open?

My husband suggested taking an angle grinder to it!

get a 9v battery and hold it over where the dead battery is. used to work with an electronic key safe at work when shift after shift ignored the low battery beep and red flashing light to say it needed changing.

Well, sadly the 9v battery trick didn't work. The battery compartment was behind the door which was too thick for the trick to be effective. However, after watching a couple of videos on YouTube I was able to get it open very easily by just banging on the top of it whilst simultaneously turning the dial. Hurrah!
