Stylish running shoes

I'm looking for a pair of stylish running shoes and want to know if such a thing exists? I am a regular runner, and normally do between 5-10km runs a couple of times a week in Nike or Asics proper running shoes. But I travel a lot for work and try to only bring my carry on. I'm looking for a trainer that looks fairly smart and I could wear in the evening or to travel in, but is suitable for an occasional 5-10km run. Any advice would be great!

On cloud cloudswift, I have a black pair that are great running shoes but look smart enough for work.

As a runner... choose running shoes that are right for your running. If they look 'stylish' then that's a bonus.

I'm inclined to agree with @ReviewingTheSituation on this one! But I share your woes of travelling with running trainers. I think you're probably better finding work shoes that are ok to wear in an evening too.

Also, if I'd been for a 10km run, I wouldn't then want to wear the same shoes out that evening. I'd want them to air properly before putting my feet back in them!

I travel in/wear a nice pair of Adidas trainers for everything when I travel - with the right work clothes they are smart enough, and they're fine for going out in the evening. That means I have space in my case for my running shoes!
If you work in a very formal job where you need heels, I can see that my plan wouldn't work.

I feel your pain because I often commute with my gym kit in the same backpack as my laptop and paperwork. I wouldn’t want to wear my running shoes all day though, they get sweaty obviously and I wouldn’t want to stick them back on after I showered and changed.

Trainers for running and trainers for everyday are two different things, I don’t think it’s possible to cover both functions in one shoe. The arched/streamlined shape of running shoes makes them fundamentally too trainer-like to ever look smart, and the flat sole of the converse/gazelle-type means they’re no good for running.

I reckon if you are a neutral runner and happy running in fairly lightweight low-profile shoes, something like Allbirds would probably be okay.
