Anybody remember karvol?

When my children were little I used karvol capsules when they had colds. God I loved the smell, but I can’t find them anywhere. Do they still sell them? And where can I buy them? (Lol I’d sneakily rub some on my hanky! Sharing is caring 😁)

Bloody loves the stuff. Still have some in the medicine cabinet.
it was stopped in 2013 as the licence to produce was lost. EBay has some for £30.

there is something called klearvol haven’t tried it but …?!

Genvol Plus capsule, Sinarest vapocaps, and Easibreathe inhalation capsules.

these are also supposed to be similar.

I searched high and low when the kids were small but couldn’t remember what it was called and chemists just gave me blank stares. How much does a licence to produce and a factory cost does anyone know???

I remember using this back in the mid 80s,for my now 40 year old DD when she was a baby and toddler,as she seemed to have a permanent cold! I absolutely hated the smell of it!

They still do them but they definitely aren’t the same as when I was little! I do use them on DDs pillows if they have a bad cold.

I remember Karvol but isn't it basically the same stuff as Olbas? It's just that it was supplied in single-dose capsules rather than a bottle?

OMG I once had a streaming cold and sat miserably in the bath trying to breathe. Had the brilliant (?) idea of bursting an olbas oil capsule into my bath (like a bath pearl. Remember them?). Only I had slippery fingers and managed to squeeze a jet into my EYE.

You can get Klearvol in Boots now but it's not the same.

I loved Karvol! Reminds me of my grandma especially.

My mum kept breathing Karvol in from a hanky to try to stop coughing when she was in labour with me.

I loved Karvol capsules - can still remember the smell. Tried to find them when I had DC but they'd stopped making them. The one's available now aren't right at all.
We now use the Kids Olbas - similar but not the same.

Klearvol is pretty similar but not exactly the same. It's not cheap though!

I also loved karvol and picked up some Klearvol at the weekend for my kids. It is just not the same!

And it is NOTHING like Olbas Oil!

Yeah Klearvol is good just not the same - works a treat for my DSS’s colds and coughs though.

Yes I remember it and heard (years ago) that the factory burnt down and then there was licensing issues. I don’t know how true that is but I remember it too.

I loved Karvol! I mutter about it everytime I stick a Calpol plug-in in.

Oh I love the smell of Karvol! Super nostalgic - my mother swore by it for any respiratory ailment. I’d be sent to bed with one of my dad’s hankies basically soaked in the stuff.

Ouch @NailyDale not a good move. What a shame that they had to stop making it wish we could get the ingredients I’d like candles, diffuser, max welts etc in that fragrance 🤣 awh for memories of mothers and grandmothers, dettol reminds me of my dear Nan.

I still have some Karvol capsules in my medicine box, I must have bought loads on sale or something because I used it all the time when the kids were young. They're 19/20 now! I used some last month over a bowl of hot water when I had a cold.

I bought a karvol diffuser and a botokevof it for my friend a few years ago. I also had a bottle until a couple of years ago.

Sometimes, just sometimes my givenchy linterdit (edp not EDT, they smell completely different) gives me karvol capsules deja vu 😂 it doesn't smell like them though and I can't explain why!

Fabulous stuff. Please somebody bring it back!
