DH & female colleagues phone calls?

DH works from home, in a communal room we don’t have an office

Lately he has been having lots of really long calls with a female coworker, they chat briefly about work but the majority are just chatty calls

These phone calls are generally 2-3 calls per day that last about 30/40 minutes each
He is working and typing away at the same time and sometimes there will be long silences while they are both busy with something yet they remain on the call?!

Sometimes I’ll walk into the room and he’ll signal a shush sign and point to his headset as if he’s on a work call but it’s just this woman telling him what she’s having for her bloody tea or something

It is increasing slowly and it is reeeaaallllly starting to get to me

I’m an over thinker and have gone straight to affair so I’m looking for some more reasonable people’s opinions?

I would also find this annoying and a bit much to be chatting (or also not chatting!) so frequently. But I wouldn't be thinking affair, if it was I don't think it would be so open and in plain sight. Your husband would be making effort to hide it and it would all be more illicit and secretive. It just sounds like mates to me.

I think it’s more obvious to you as he’s WFH / chatting over headset - I get why you’re annoyed. As a fellow WFH-er though, is it possible he’s just a bit lonely and missing the general chat of the office? I know I do

Yeah I think thats odd tbh, I don't have any mates or colleagues I would chat to for that amount of time about non work stuff. Even if its not an affair he's way over invested.

I assume it's because it's a woman? If he was having these chats with a man, you wouldn't feel the same?

Me and my colleague (both f) have long chats. It starts off work talk, then we end up chatting about whatever. We just chat about the same stuff that we would if we were in the office all day, but just on the phone instead.
