Church Schools Secondary Application Questions

Acunningruse · 26/09/2023 17:43

DS is in Y6 at a C of E school. We will be applying to a faith-based secondary school which requires a Supplementary Information Form completing with a section for your minister to complete.

I know it's silly but I'm having kittens about asking! I'm not even sure who to ask as the services we go to are all conducted by the lay minister- can she also complete the SIF?

I'm not sure how to ask, even. I see her every day on the school run as she drops off grandchildren. But don't want to catch her "on the hop". But then it's always busy after services too. I HATE asking favours of anyone and always tie myself in knots but this is so important for DS.
Help!

Our local church has office hours when you can pop in if you want to book christenings or weddings, maybe check the church website and see if yours has similar and pop along then? Or email? I really don’t think the lay minister would mind you catching her on the school run though!

Alternatively there may be helpers in the church who welcome, hand out notices etc. Maybe grab one of them after a service and ask what to do?

Why don’t you ask her on the school run if she knows what the procedure is? Then she can either offer to do it for you or tell you the correct way to get it signed.

Email the church office and ask who signs school applications. They'll be used to queries like that. You won't be the first or the last to do that.

I’d call or email the church office. Don’t worry about it. They’ll be very used to doing this type of thing.
