Experiences of taking the mini pill

I went for my pill check today and the nurse recommended I change to the mini pill. I’m 42, overweight and my blood pressure is a bit high (not terrible though). I’ve been on Millinette for around 4 years (since Loestrin got discontinued, but been on others since I was 18 except pregnancy) and I mentioned that I get terrible headaches for a day or two before I’m due on and for the first couple of days of my period. This together with the other factors meant that she thought the mini pill would be safer. I haven’t collected the prescription yet so don’t know which It’ll be but she said it’s one with a 12 hour window. After reading up about it I’m really concerned about terrible side effects especially acne and hair loss. My skin and hair are my only good features. I know that sounds really vain, but I don’t want problem skin. I honestly don’t think I look good at all, but I do have clear skin. If you’ve taken the mini pill how did you find it?

Same as @Chocolate23 and @IamSmarticus . I've been on Cerazette for over 10 years, no side effects and no periods apart from after each Covid jab strangely. Now perimenopausal and on HRT but also still taking the mini pill.

Took mini pill for many years - loved it - no negative side-effects, and no periods!

@Andthen I'm the same age, and when I recently came to the end of my last pack I thought I'd see if I'd get a period if I didn't take them...no period yet! If I did I'd go right back on them. (Obviously you'd need alternative birth control)

Another on cerazette for 10+ years. No side effects other than the blessed relief of no periods.

I just started it last 3 months. I get terrible PMS. It has balanced my mood and saved my marriage. I missed my first period and this recent period has now been 2 weeks long. I went to GP again yesterday due to this and they told me you can bleed fot 6 months on it. Although not ideal, I started taking it for migranes related to periods. I wa knocked off my feet for a whole day, vomiting. It has totally stopped these migranes. Bleeding is something I will take for 6 months if it has to be, to prevent the migranes.
I am also currently losing weight, and had no impact on skin or hair. Have really thick hair and would love it thinned out a bit lol
