Name changed for this. A woman I know has an 8yo DD but the woman is obsessed with being famous. She claims to be related to a famous family and has given herself a title. She’s also convinced herself and her mother, that she has a stalker (despite posting her car, bank statements, house, routine etc on instagram). She’s also told her DD that she might be kidnapped and they rehearse kidnapping drills.
I think this is totally unhinged, it’s all a complete fantasy, she’s in no way related to this famous family and she does not have a title. (She’s actually a pole dancer and glamour model from a market town in England. Which is fine in itself!!) My youngest sister did some modelling thing with her in London with Lisa Snowdon.
Her DD seems distraught, when I see her at school drop off/pick up (after school club - I don’t know what school she goes to), she’s terrified. Her mother wears a lanyard with the family name on it and talks about her private jet and helicopter and overtly checks that DD knows the “safe word” so she doesn’t get kidnapped. It’s so performative but the child is terrified and I don’t know what to do about it.
