Would your DCs recognise the phrase "Good Heavens!"?

I was looking through my son's GCSE paper and for one question he had to analyse a text which included the exclamation "Good Heavens!". In his answer he described it as a "biblibal reference". I haven't had the chance to ask him about it yet, but I'm guessing he isn't familar with its use as a common phrase. It probably didn't gain him any marks either!

Would your DC recognise it?

Recognise it how?
It is very old fashioned and not something he would come across regularly.
It is sort of a religious reference so he isn't entirely wrong.

Yes, he would have heard it around here from older (middle aged and above) people. Probably not from his contemporaries admittedly.

It was his English Language GCSE paper. I guess this is the sort of thing teachers mean when they advise their students to "read a range of texts" to improve their comprehension skills. Unfortunately my DS was never a big reader of anything other than social media (despite lots of encouragement and role modelling from both parents).

I'm not sure they would. Now if it were, "For the love of God," I expect they would recognise the none religious intent (and wait for a demand to tidy their room).
