Legoland after xmas

Has anyone been to Legoland in the lull between xmas and new year?

Fed up of buying the kids crap so looking at booking a night in the resort and 2 days, likely the 27th/28th.

Wondered how busy to expect it to be.

Also, noted the castle hotel is bit more expensive than the resort hotel, any particular reason that make its more worth it?

Is Legoland itself open at that time of year or are you just going to stay in the hotel? The castle hotel is a lot newer but doesn’t have the pool, you have to across to the resort hotel for that.

I don't think the theme park is open at that time. It would just be the hotel, which in itself isn't worth visiting, the pool is tiny and the entertainment etc won't be on.

They do Christmas events but these are usually early Dec.

Forgive me the 'legoland at xmas' event is on those dates and selected rides are open.

We’ve been to the Xmas opening, but not between Xmas and New Year. We were there December 21, so it was really quiet due to covid. Lots of fun, but not all of the rides are open.

We’ve been to both the resort and castle hotels. Personally, we prefer the castle hotel as it tends to be mostly older kids there so it’s a bit quieter. The castle restaurant has food that’s reasonably edible, whereas the resort restaurant is buffet and awful. The pool and evening entertainment are at the resort hotel, but it’s only a couple of minutes away.
