Hi, we're coming to Newcastle for a couple of days next week. Can any mumsnetters in this area recommend places to visit in Northumberland ,on the coast &/ or countryside. We've been before & have been to Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, Morpeth, Alnwick. & Newcastle itself. Thank you. 😊

Bamburgh beach is beautiful, as is Beadnell Bay.
Take a walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle.
Also look up "The Ship Inn" at Lower Newton. Worth a visit and right on the beach.

Beamish museum is fab for a day out!

Trips we’ve enjoyed around the Newcastle area include a boat trip around the Farne Island, leaving from Seahouses.
Hadrians Wall.
Durham.
Holy Island.

Craster is meant to be beautiful. DH was there a few years ago when a friend got married in that region.

As others have said Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle is beautiful, the castle is EH but you can get in for free if you have a NT pass. Cragside is a great day out, as are Holy Island and Bamburgh. The Potted Lobster is fantastic for food.
