Hi there,

This has popped up on my OH's face tonight, does anyone know what the swelling on his cheekbone may be? It does look more pronounced IRL than on the photo.

An insect bite I expect.

Looks like an allergic reaction to sting or bite. Do you have antihistamine?

A spot? I get them like that and I'm in my 50s.

Not sure about a bite, he's had them in the same spot before now.

He is allergic to cats (and we have 4!) could it be related to that?

Looks like there might be a small head on there, so either a spot or a bite.
If it doesn't settle in a few days he should see the GP to get it checked.
He has nice eyes BTW.

@WickWood, I'm wondering if you live near me in East Anglia??
As PP have suggested, if you think it's allergy related he should have some antihistamines, and there are some good creams out there to stop itching too.

It looks like the eczema I get on that part of my face. Definitely could be from the cat allergy

Thanks all, it probably is the cat allergy. He does usually take medication but it isn't working very well, we recently got a fourth cat and it's tipped him over the edge!
