Friends new ish boyfriend has admitted he’s been banned from driving for 3 years. Claims some nonsense about undertaking on a motorway and doing 85mph.

im calling bullshit, however I was wondering what sort of offences it could be as it sounds pretty serious, and a long ban.

any thoughts?

I call bullshit - I think dangerous driving at least.

Google him. Round here they put the names in the paper, and on their facebook page, of people who’ve been in court. We found out the bloke over the road has lost his license for drink driving, that way.

A relation of DH was banned for three years for drink -driving. He also got a substantial fine and points.

I was in court for a sentencing and they got 2 years for causing death by dangerous driving.

You get 3 years for drunk driving or drug driving.

My brother hit over 100mph and got a one year ban soooo 3 must be awful

PinkRoses1245 · 25/09/2023 21:43

That would only be correct if he already had a lot of points. I’d think it would be drink/drug driving or injuring someone

That’s insane it’s only 2 years for death by dangerous driving. That should be a murder or manslaughter sentence

Is she dating my exH? Run for the blooming hills! He's been banned for repeatedly driving without insurance Hmm I don't know how long for though.

PinkFootstool · 25/09/2023 21:49

Likely drink or drug driving, and for the third + time. An initial ban would be in the order of 12 months for a first offence.

Also possible it was dangerous driving or DD with injury or death caused which could correlate with his minimised story.

Have you googled his name?
