Hi All

DH's stepdad had a heart attack not long ago, had a stent fitted in and has just been diagnosed with arrhytmia (severity not known yet, he's in hospital). He's mid-70s.

Does anyone have any similar stories to share, please? We are very worried about him and not sure what to expect next. TIA 💐

it’s not at all uncommon to have rhythm problems after a heart attack/in older age. How big a problem it is will depend on what the rhythm is/what’s precipitated the change now/what effects it’s having/whether it can be got back into a normal rhythm/rate controlled/how his heart looks & works on echo scanning/what his general health is like. Team looking after him are probably the best to advise. Hope he’s on the mend soon.

Thank you. We're feeling pretty scared now. He is in good hands and hopefully will improve but we don't know how his life is going to change and what support he'll need. He was active all his life, not overweight, always ate well. It's such a shock.
