Hi.
We live on a housing estate with a LOT of cats. We've had endless issues with poo everywhere. I had to lay chicken wire along a strip of gravel down the side of our house, as that was the only way to stop them using it as a giant litter tray. 😷
They also poo on our front lawn (and back lawn but thankfully getting a dog has stopped that!) and the flower beds at the front of the house, so I am hoping to re-do the front garden in a way that means there's nowhere for them to use. Ideally I'm planning to pave part of it and then lay largish gravel (so more like pebbles) on the rest (in my head I'm picturing something like Dungeness with some pretty grasses and maybe succulents scattered about and some nice pots with lavender).
However I think pebbles big enough that cats can't dig in them will likely be expensive, so now I'm wondering whether slate chippings might be a more affordable option.
Googling seems to indicate that cats won't like to poo in slate - but I'm not entirely convinced. So wondering if any mumsnetters have slate and if you have any cat poo issues?
