Weed killer advice

What do I buy and where from? I need it to be safe for children and pets and do I put on the weeds and then scrape them up? My ex was a gardener and so always did it but I now am in charge of my own garden and it is looking very weedy.

I never use it. Nothing is child and pet friendly.

White vinegar with salt in it, I don’t find the chemicals work any more.

Salt isn’t great to put on your garden for either wildlife or plants. Most weeds are easy enough to pull or dig up.
