Help! Who makes John Lewis sofas?

So, after making do with our very tatty old sofas for the last few years, my DH and I decided it was finally time to replace them this autumn.

We chose a sofa we both loved (John Lewis ‘Cosy’) back in February and have been saving up since then. We’ve now saved enough and went onto the JL website this weekend to order, only to discover that the style has been discontinued! 😭 I now really wish I’d been able to buy earlier in the year.

Does anybody know who makes John Lewis sofas? I’ve already tried Westbridge but they said it isn’t one of theirs. I’d be really grateful for any advice! I really don’t want to have to start another sofa search…

Some of the John Lewis fabrics are used on other manufacturers sofas (sold by them).

Can you identify the fabric from your first sofa and see if there is anything else available that you like?

@D1nopawus , thanks - that’s a good thought but unfortunately it was the design (rather than the fabric) that we wanted.

I think our JL sofa (15+ years old) was made by John Sankey, but I don't see one similar to the Cosy on their website.

I haven’t been able to find another sofa with the same style arm as the JL one, sadly. I don’t even know what that arm style is called so I’m struggling to Google it!

Here’s another photo from the side (this time with a lighter fabric) to show what I mean. It’s sort of “cut out” or “swoop” and is higher at the back of the arm.

@PatsyJStone , are you thinking of the Next Burford sofa…? If so, that would have been an ideal alternative and was actually my second choice sofa back in February. Unbelievably, it also seems to have been discontinued recently! 😭

I’ve emailed Next just in case they can still place orders as it was discontinued so recently…
