What would you spend it on?

Hi, lighthearted thread here.

I'm about to receive a small(ish) amount of money.

Around 8-10k so nothing life changing, but enough to have a little treat, maybe save some, who knows?

My question is, if you were about to receive 8-10k what would you do with it?

Treatyaselff · 25/09/2023 15:11

@Oooooooooooo1 of course!

I do have a dh and two children to add into this mix though 😂

Are they old enough to appreciate Disney land @Treatyaselff ?

Treatyaselff · 25/09/2023 15:16

@Oooooooooooo1 I think one will be too old (13) and the other too young (3) I would appreciate disney land though 😂😍

Put half of it in an ISA or in savings accounts for the DC, and spend the other half. You could replace tatty furniture, do some decorating, go somewhere nice on holiday, buy something you've always wanted like a quality piece of jewellery. Loads of options, but do something positive with it that you'll remember, otherwise it will just run through your fingers like water!

@fiddlesticksandotherwords I'm definitely thinking of splitting the amount up!

I was thinking around 3/4k into savings?

Treat myself to a new washing machine and an air fryer 😍😂

We already have an overseas holiday booked, but I'm thinking I could look into a centre parcs type break too? Although I'm not sure I could justify the prices vs going abroad? 🤯

Center Parcs are silly money for what they are. I'd go for theatre tickets & some day trips.
