Sofa and carpet colour. Will this combo look terrible?

I’m thinking of getting the sofa in grey. The carpet I have is the colour of the beige sofa. Is this going to look dreadful? I’ve seen and sat on the grey sofa at a friends but they don’t have the colour or fabric samples in the showroom I can get to. Would there be a paint colour that could possibly tie the grey sofa with the beige carpet ? I asked for a fabric sample to be posted out of some of the other colours but that was over a month ago and they haven’t arrived. I’d like to order the sofa to arrive by Christmas but don’t want it to clash horribly with carpet. Any opinions or advice very appreciated. TIA

It looks as though there are other options though. I don’t think that grey and beige goes together well.

Honestly they won’t look great together. I’d call and chase for the samples, say you are ready to order but need the samples asap and they will likely send them quickly!

You’ve already confirmed my suspicions even though I’m trying to convince myself it could work. Good idea to tell them I’m ready to order and try get the samples. The woman I spoke to offered to send them as I didn’t even see on the website that they had samples. She said it could take 3 weeks ( which seems very slow ) but it’s past that now.
