Abroad holiday ideas for November .. Egypt ?

Hi.

I’m looking for suggestions for some sun holidays in November.
I personally would like to go to Gran Caneria however DH really wants to go to
Egypt mainly for the guaranteed hot weather.
For some reason I’m really not sold on Egypt, any suggestions/views/advice?

It would be me, DH and two kids 5 and under.

I'm planning on going to Jordan in November. You can look at Roman remains in Jerash, obviously go to Petra, have a night in the desert like Laurence of Arabia and go to the Red Sea and or Dead Sea.

Sorry. Missed the under 5s. Definitely not Jordan. I'd probably stick to the Canaries. There can be food problems in Egypt.

We're going to the canaries. I'd book soon though because many hotels were full

Mauritius - flight is long but direct/overnight, and no jet lag and family resorts once there.
Much nicer IMHO than the Canaries.

That sounds great. Did you arrange it independently or through an agent?

I am going to Gran Canaria but had been planning on going to Mexico, (decided to stay closer due to some family issues) had also looked at Cape Verde

Canaries is lovely weather in November!

Been Egypt 25+ times never had food poisoning. Just pick a decent hotel. Look at Steigenberger Aqua Magic or Sunrise Garden Beach/Royal Makadi.

Weather in November will be amazing and no chance of rain.

I wouldn't go to Egypt with 2 under 5s - I went as a 17yo with my parents and it wasn't the most relaxing holiday for any of us! Gran Canaria sounds about right for what you'd want as a young family, and the weather is normally pretty much the same all year round.

The more adventurous holidays can wait until the kids are a bit older and able to appreciate it more. It's been YEARS since I went to the Canaries, but GC is probably the nicest one and slightly less resorty than Tenerife.
