Day 4 of d&v bug - any help or advice?

Started with a bug that came out of nowhere Thursday evening. Main symptom is extreme and fairly constant diarrhoea but I’ve had convulsing vomiting too. Sometimes at the same time. Nice.

I have managed to keep fluids down so I don’t think I’m dehydrated but I’m not really able to eat anything (tried some plain boiled rice last night and had a miserable night until every single grain was ejected from one end or the other). I’ve never had D&V this severely for this long before. It’s not getting better and feels like it will never end. I’m having to use a sanitary pad due to seepage and sleep on a bed wetting mat. I’m getting fairly desperate.

If its more than 3 days I suspect you need antibiotics

If it started Thursday evening, realistically you're only 62 ish hours in? Not long really as it can last up to seven days. Have you tried eating something like a boiled egg as they are binding? Is it definitely a bug or could you have eaten something dodgy?
You will definitely be dehydrated so you could do with something like an electrolyte drink.
Hoping you get better soon, it really is miserable.

i really don’t think it can be food poisoning - I hadn’t eaten anything remotely suspect. Equally I don’t know of anyone else with this bug so it’s a bit of a mystery.
