Is this a safe area of London to stay?

Planning a trip next year to go to the theatre /tourist attractions
Haven't been to London in over 18 years.
I've found a hotel "thistle Hyde park -Kensington gardens"
It's near Bayswater and Queensway tube
Is this a decent area to head into Oxford Circus etc ?

Yeah it's fine, and very easy to get into central London.

Nice area. Not top-of-the-range upmarket but I'd have no problem with staying there or walking around at night and getting to Oxford Circus on the Tube (Queensway on the Central Line) is a piece of cake.
