Anyone fancy a guess what will break next?

My car refused to start this morning and I needed to get the breakdown people out, who told me I'll be facing a £200-£1000 bill, depending on what the garage will find in the end.

I just wanted to go to bed a few mins ago, suddenly I couldn't shut my tap off anymore and it was all just pouring out. I shut off the main supply and am now waiting for an emergency plumber at £80 callout charge, plus labour and parts to fix this.

Since these things happen in 3s, what will break in the next hour and a half to completely bankrupt me?

Well, I'm £700 poorer and now officially broke, but nothing else broke before midnight. Curse lifted, do we think?

Broadband will die. No Mumsnet!

I dropped my phone this morning and it is, miraculously, still fully functional.

Hopefully on a winning streak now!

Just in the last yea had to replace washing machine dishwasher fridge freezer and tumble dryer caught fire so that aswell.

Yep, my bank account is now dangerously close to 0. Good thing it's nearly pay day!

£700 to replace a broken tap!! That would make my heart break....

The £700 included stopping the tap overnight so it didn't flood my bathroom, including late night/ weekend emergency callout, and now the cost and installation of a new tap today. All in all probably not too bad.

Spectacularly missing the gist of your thread and glad nothing else happened...... I'm wondering what whisky and redbull would taste like 🥃
