You can't stop a cold.

Lots of rest and relaxation and see how he is on Monday. That's literally all you can do.

Best thing is to send him with something to treat the symptoms - paracetamol and other things depending on his age. Sadly nothing gets rid of a cold faster. Sorry it’s rubbish timing!

margotrose · 23/09/2023 09:01

You can't.

But unless he's bedridden surely he can still go?

ScarlettDarling · 23/09/2023 09:02

Saline nasal spray is great for unblocking. Paracetamol for any headaches. Sambucol for an immune boost. But send him, you can’t keep him away with a cold.

WeWereInParis · 23/09/2023 09:05

I'd send him with a cold unless he really felt awful.

But for the weekend, rest, lots of water, and a couple of early nights won't hurt.

Yesnomaybeok · 23/09/2023 09:06

High dose of vitamin C today and tomorrow. Fresh air and plenty of water.

Was just coming on to say sambucol....I got some for my ds when he was ill but had an important event he had to attend.

Other than that, I'd keep him in bed resting, lots of fluid. I mean you have two days...colds can improve dramatically in that time meaning by Monday he may only have mild symptoms left.

mibbelucieachwell · 23/09/2023 09:13

Nasal anti -virus spray asap

Frequent vitamin C

Lemon, honey and ginger

Sambucol

Keep warm

Have loads of hot drinks

Rest

Echinacea drops - the A Vogel ones are the best!

If there was a way, everyone would do it. It’s a viral infection so just needs to run its course.

Plenty of rest, water and vitamin C

MaidOfSteel · 23/09/2023 09:42

I take Paracetamol to suppress the symptoms and find it effective.

Wow thank you so much all your replies! Will pop to the pharmacy now! Hopefully it'll all settle by Monday. Appreciate everyone's posts
