Night out LDN bridge

Asking all my Londoners who know the London Bridge area.
I am a North Londoner recently moved to south London .... I know... traitor 😆
I still want to maintain my NL friends and it seems London Bridge area is a good place to meet in the middle.
My friend and I and very bubbly, sociable and chatty so love a good bar vibe. (We are late 30's so no teeny bopper clubs)!
Just somewhere nice to drink and have chat in a nice area. Cool vibes and music a plus.
Any recommendations please??
I'm so out of the loop!!

Let me add we are 'young' late 30's! So very up on the music scene. Not that we need music but didn't want to portray that we are old crusty types 🤣

Bunch of Grapes St Thomas Street. Frankly, I think you'd do better around Waterloo than London Bridge. The Archduke Winebar for instance.

Or you could bggr off back north you vile incomer (Sarf London here).

What about around Borough Market? There used to be loads of nice places to have a drink round there though i am also a bit out of the loop after having a baby two years ago!

There's loads of bars and restaurants on Tooley Street or down the side roads off it.

Go to Katzenjammers! German beer hall that has a live band and great fun.

Loads of lively pubs in that area. Anchor Bankside and the George are both good!

missldn · 22/09/2023 20:32

@Dumbles omg that looks hilarious 🤣
Thank you guys for the suggestions! I will check them all out ❤️

Electric shuffle is surprisingly good fun - it's just next to the station. Had a team outing there that I dreaded a bit but then really enjoyed.

Bermondsey St is great, behind LB station. Loads of cool restaurants and bars. Flour and Grape is a reasonably priced Italian with a cocktail bar underneath which has a great atmosphere - cosy though. Several gastropubs, a couple of very nice tapas places, French, Vietnamese and my favourite Thai place on Crucifix St. Loads of bars and Druid St market. Buzzing atmosphere. Quite trendy.

Southwark tavern is fab, also a nice pub on the waterfront, left of Hays Galleria that’s nice. There’s a cool rooftop bar opposite Southwark tavern.

Omeara
Flat Iron Square
Vinegar Yard
London Bridge Rooftop

Oh to be young and child free!!

I'm a South Londoner originally but now living in North London and pretty much all of my friends and family are still South so we usually meet up at London Bridge or Waterloo, often at places already mentioned by PP.

I recently discovered The Rose pub at 123 Snowfields, about 5 minutes walk from The Shard. I enjoyed the atmosphere - relaxed boozer - a mix of ages and music.

Turmerictolly · 22/09/2023 20:46

Kin and Deum is the Thai on Crucifix Lane but you'd need to book. Flour and Grape doesn't take bookings and is very popular so queues form.

MistsofAvalon · 22/09/2023 20:46

Vinegar Yard is good too but I'd say for the warmer weather

The Horniman pub on the waterfront is lovely!

You are welcome new comer, the people's republic of south london is open to all.
And some of these suggestions are great, but why not try Soho? It might be in North London on a technicality, but Soho is neutral in the age old tribal conflict.

Thank you for the welcome! So nice of you 😊.

I love soho too. You're right. It's not too far away. I was just looking for places that weren't so in the West End.
