What's the best way to find out who my son's friends are at school? He's only just started and can't remember their names, keeps saying 'the one who has curly hair' and 'the one who is my friend and plays with me'. Is this something I can ask teachers or would this be exceptionally annoying? Feels very different to nursery but still not got my head round school etiquette and norms etc.

If he’s just started I’d either pick nursery friends (have been to a few parties in September that have just invited nursery children) or just invite all the boys. If he’s only just started he likely wont have made proper friends yet. Class WhatsApp makes parties so much easier.

There is a class whatsapp but only a few people on it. I'd never think to just invite boys though!

If possible (you can afford it & get a big enough venue) do a whole class party. You can ask the teacher for a list of first names & then often the teacher will hand them out. If it's a whole class party no-one is missed out, you'll find out names & contact numbers plus you can chat to the other parents at the party & observe who are the kids your DC actually play with.
