Schools/life in Doha

Hi everyone
We are seriously considering an employment offer in Doha. We have young children of primary school age and just wondered if anyone has any recent experiences/recommendations of the English schools there that you would be willing to share? We are looking for somewhere great academically but also nurturing with extra curricular options.

Do anyone also have experience of joining the schools midway through a school year and what this was like for the children?

Also from a lifestyle perspective are there lots of clubs and activities for children in doha eg gymnastics, scouts etc

With Doha especially there is lots of information in various Facebook groups (British expats Qatar, British and Irish mums Doha, two fat expats) that give all the answers from people who live here - it's the best way to get information and people are very forthcoming with answers and welcoming you'll get plenty of information on the post and people who will message you as well.
