Phantom kicks. So weird. I would swear I was pregnant if...

It weren't for the fact that my dp had a vasectomy 8 years ago and I'm have very regular painful periods.

The last 3 nights lay in bed I've had very prominent phantom kicks. And once during the day too.

Absolutely impossible but identical to baby kicks.

Take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease. The kicks will then magically transform into gas :)

OhComeOnFFS · 22/09/2023 16:20

I agree with the PP - you have to get tested!

LilKiks · 22/09/2023 16:31

Absolutely not pregnant.

My periods, although they've been a week later or early lately, have been very heavy, alot of blood and he's had the snip.

I think I’ve had that on the odd occasion. Maybe you have a twitch?

Vintagecreamandcottagepie · 22/09/2023 16:57

I've had this before.

I was so convinced (worried) I might be pregnant again, I went to the doctors and explained that despite regular periods and negative tests, I was getting kicks.

She had a good feel of tummy bless her. Nothing there, shocking!

HappyPurrrsday · 22/09/2023 17:00

I had that too, lasted about a week on and off. Was weird! I did a preg test in the end just to make sure 😆

PollyAmour · 22/09/2023 17:02

Sorry but it's just intestinal gasses moving around, too early to be a proper fart.

Avatartar · 22/09/2023 17:04

Lie on your left side, roll to centre, bring knees in to chest, repeat and make sure you are not next to an open flame 🔥

AutumnFroglets · 22/09/2023 17:10

I got those phantom kicks a lot. Perimenopause has a lot to answer for, as it can bugger up your digestive system too. Your intestines are slowing down which causes all these gas bubbles to kick off there instead of being moved quickly to your butt for general release.

PercytheParkKeepershedgehog · 22/09/2023 17:54

Oh non I believe you when you say you can’t possibly be pregnant. But a pound or so on a cheap test will get rid of the nagging feeling for you.

LilKiks · 19/10/2023 21:20

OK it's a month later.

My period was due 11th anf it's just not come. The last week I've felt like it was going to start but I've just had some brown discharge.

Some cramps.

My boob are usually really sore. Nothing.

I'm almost considering a pregnancy test.

Is 38 too young for menopause??

wetnwindy49 · 19/10/2023 21:22

Take a test

BranchGold · 19/10/2023 21:23

I don’t know why you wouldn’t just get a test.

it’s not impossible with a vasectomy.

it’s impossible when you’re the Virgin Mary.

Notcookie · 19/10/2023 21:23

Test!

SabbatWheel · 19/10/2023 21:23

Do a test.
No, 38 is not too young for the menopause (my mum started at 37 and was on HRT for 30 years).

Because last month my period came and was heavy.

I've only just realised HOW late I am and I feel like my period is going to start.

It's been 13 years since I last bought a pregnancy test. I'd feel bloody stupid tbh.

And I know as soon as I do my period will start.

But if I don't come on over night I will get one in the morning.

I think I'd be testing just in case, in your position..

marshmallowfinder · 19/10/2023 21:36

After a vasectomy, the tubes actually can join together again in rare cases.

HiCandles · 19/10/2023 21:43

I wouldn't be convinced that your previous heavy periods are completely reassuring tbh, some women bleed a lot in pregnancy yet all is well. So even if you do come on overnight I still think I'd be testing!

Bakedbeansandtoast · 19/10/2023 22:03

Definitely test...

newmama311 · 19/10/2023 22:06

Definitely time for a test

cocksstrideintheevening · 20/10/2023 09:03

Why would you not test?!

nle · 20/10/2023 09:13

Definitely test.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 20/10/2023 09:15

Just placemarking for do a test.

nancypowers1983 · 20/10/2023 09:20

I had phantom kicks quite frequently for years after my second baby. I get them very occasionally now too and weirdly kind of enjoy them cos I know I'm not pregnant but it's a nice memory of my favourite part of pregnancy. But in your position OP I don't understand the logic of feeling silly about buying a test. There is nothing daft about buying one, it's perfectly reasonable and could put your mind at rest very easily.
Nobody on here will have the answer so test or visit your GP. And yes some women have heavy periods throughout (my friend did) and some women have menopause from their early 30s (my mum did) So it could be either or it could be something else. Good luck.
