Woken up by hideous sinus pain, any tips?

I've never had sinus pain before and boy does it hurt. I've been ill since Monday with some kind of viral/flu/covid type thing. Feel really run down, but just about surviving on pain meds. However at half 3 today, I woke to a searing pain in one ear and across my face on that side, just under my eye/cheek area. Quick Google and it looks like it's sinus related.

Any tips on how to manage this? I've taken some more pain relief but over two hours later it's still to painful to get back to sleep.

Pseudophredrine hydrochloride OTC. The active ingredient in Sudafed. Paracetomol won't touch the pain but this will. Swear by it.

Also Neil med nasal spray every single morning.

Had sinusitis twice in recent years and both times prescribed Avamys, a steroid nasal spray for it. Worked really well (after trying salt sinus washes at home, unsuccessfully).
