I have been awake since 5.00, I wish I was still asleep. The house is so silent here by myself.

Yes being awake in the quiet can be strange. I'm used to waking up early though, I quite like the time to myself!

Is something bothering you to wake you up or is it just how you are?

Tonight1 · 22/09/2023 05:57

Only got a couple of hours so went downstairs and had breakfast and coffee.

5am isn't too bad, have you got work today?

ArtemisFlop · 22/09/2023 05:59

Yes!

Yes! Been awake since 2.30am and have had a few nights of that this week.

lucky in so far as not an every night thing but it seems to be a pattern for me that every few months where I have a few nights of insomnia.

It’s my birthday today, so I’m just sat in the living room cosied up under a blanket waiting for the rest of the household to stir.

DC traditionally bring me my cards in bed on my bday, so I’ll sneak back up when I hear them brushing their teeth.

Toomanylosthours · 22/09/2023 06:04

Yes awake, decided to pour a bath at 5.30 .... May as well relax this morning before the house wakes up if I can't sleep.

Does anyone encountered more issues sleeping as the seasons transition or is this just me?

Tonight1 · 22/09/2023 06:07

Happy birthday @NotAllWhoWanderAreLost 🎊🎂

Kashmirisky · 22/09/2023 06:08

I get up at 5 for work. I’ve been waking up at 3am for weeks though which is knackering when I don’t sit Suen for the day/dinner until 7:30pm.

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:09

@NotAllWhoWanderAreLost , That username made me smile. So true.

Thank you all for the birthday wishes ☺️

@Leggytigberk it sums me up entirely, to the point it’s potentially identifiable 😂

What’s everyone else up to today?

garlictwist · 22/09/2023 06:16

I've been awake all night in pain with a broken foot. Feeling like shit! Luckily I don't have work today but going to get up in a minute as so sick of this bloody bed.

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:21

@garlictwist Sorry about your foot. An accident at work or home I guess. Do you have help around you?

OP posts:
Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:23

I am WFH this morning and out to a meeting later, that will probably become a social meeting.

Happy birthday @NotAllWhoWanderAreLost
@Leggytigberk it's good to know other people are struggling with waking early. It was 5 am for me but I didn't sleep until after midnight. Seems to be every day now too. I'm worrying about divorce arrangements. Up and exercising before I have to get my children up.

garlictwist · 22/09/2023 06:43

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:21

@garlictwist Sorry about your foot. An accident at work or home I guess. Do you have help around you?

I'm in a walking boot so can get about but it's just getting more and more painful so I am slightly concerned it's getting worse. It doesn't help I tripped on the stairs yesterday in said stupid boot and landed on the bad foot!

I live alone but am trying to at least hobble to the park at the end of my street which is on a big hill and has nice views to get some fresh air and try to restore my sanity.

Finding life very hard right now!

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:48

My sympathies @ArtemisFlop , My divorce was a few years ago and was calm and amicable, well, compared to some of the cases on MN it was. But even then there was so much to think about and explanations to DCs.
It was as if there was only one topic of conversation in the house for over 6 months.
I promise you; you will get through it.

OP posts:
ArtemisFlop · 22/09/2023 06:54

Thanks@Leggytigberk glad yours was calm. Mine's pretty hideous.

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 06:55

@ArtemisFlop Sorry about that, I hope you are safe.

Leggytigberk · 22/09/2023 07:22

That's it for now, I have started on emails and shall get dressed. Hope you all have a good day. We should have fine weather.

@Leggytigberk did you sleep any better last night? X

Leggytigberk · 23/09/2023 12:57

@ArtemisFlop , Hi, Oh I had a lie-in till after 6.00 this morning. Luxury of an extra hour.
Thanks for asking, I posted earlier on another thread that I have a wet area in my bathroom. So no shower! How are you today, given your problems?
Much planned?
