It's a mattress one!

I'm not sure what's happened but since turning 50, I'm like the princess and the pea when it comes to beds!

I want to get a new mattress in the new year but there's so much to choose from, I don't know where to start.

I currently have a Next 2000 pocket sprung 'firm' bed which I loved when I first bought it (about 7 years ago) but I'm now finding it really uncomfortable on my hips and lower back. I want something that feels supportive yet cushiony and soft. Maybe I need to avoid springs? I don't want anything that's going to make me hot. Budget around £5-800.

Any suggestions welcome please 😊

Tempur. Definitely tempur. Bery expensive. More than your budget. But its worth every penny if you can stretch a little more.

I second @MrsNK28 with Tempur. Worth the significant investment for sure.

Maybe I will be able to get a Tempur one a bit cheaper in the sales? In the meantime, I shall go and have a look at some.

I’ve had a memory foam mattress and it was horrible. When you first lay on it it’s lovely but after a while it Moulds around your body so you start to feel sunken in so during the night I found it quite hard to turn over as I felt like I was laid in a jelly mould . It got hot too . Got a medium firm pocket spring and it’s lovely, easy to turn over and doesn’t warm up . I need to find cold bits for my legs now a days !

I've found any mattress with a good thick memory foam topper on top and another egg crate one on top of that! Costs about £100 I total and so comfortable, maybe its just me? X

I think next time I replace my mattress i’ll buy the premier inn “public” version as I always sleep well in their beds.

After much research we got a Simba. No risk as it can be returned up to 200 days after delivery with a full refund. We love it, in particular any tossing and turning isn’t transferred to the other person.
