Hello I am speaking at a conference next week to over 200 employees at my company including the board! Stressed about it and scared voice will shake and be unable to talk. I have now got an online prescription of propranolol for situational anxiety. I have read that you should try it first. Just keen to understand dosage people take - I have 10mg tablets but hear people usually have 40mg?. Also how long before presentation should I take it? Should I try it in advance and if so in what dose - I will only really have the day before to test it out.
Thx
Jane

i used to take them to get my heart rate down when I had Graves disease, then once that was resolved I used the leftovers for giving presentations. Now I don't use them, my confidence presenting got good enough that I didn't need them anymore. Hopefully that's the case for you too. Glad it went well.

So good to hear! Really pleased it went well :)

Excellent - well done! What will eventually happen is you’ll have trained yourself out of the panic response to presenting and won’t need them anymore. That’s what happened to me. I’m absolutely fine now but used to be absolutely terrified.

For those who got this online, where did you get it from? I have a big work presentation and I think this might help.

This thread is very topical! I’ve just made a GP appointment to get some for a big interview I have coming up where they definitely won’t employ me if my nerves show.

I'm a bit worried they won't prescribe it to me due to being very overweight

Just an update. I got the prescription from my doctor. She took my blood pressure and my heart rate. As my heart rate is low anyway she said to start with 10mg and see how I go.

So I went to a 1 to 1 interview prep. course this morning. I took 10mg an hour before it was due to start and I noticed that outside the building I had no nerves whatsoever. I have a couple of mock interviews coming up so I’ll try 10mg again and see how it goes. I did still have a red face at the end but I’m not sure if that was just down to the chatting. I didn’t feel like I was flushing. I do have a smidge of a headache but I can live with that if it works on what I need it to.

I got it from Pharmacy2U online with no problems.
