Or am I going to be the equivalent of wearing pjs on the school run?
I wear mine as slippers mainly and not out of the house but always get cold on planes.. and have seen people wearing them out so wasn’t sure…

I wear mine everywhere 😂🙈

cruffinsmuffin · 21/09/2023 12:13

Definitely wear them 😂 I wear them on planes! Also crocs! So comfy for an eight hour flight.

CalistoNoSolo · 21/09/2023 12:27

No I wouldn't. I couldn't even bring myself to wear something so fugly in private. And crocs should be banned, awful, hideous things.

On the plane, absolutely.
Round the airport? How well can you walk in them? I couldn't do the distances required in them, but you may well be able to.

😂 please tell me you fly in tightly laced well polished brogues?! Or better, combat boots ready for all eventualities on the plane?

Crocs are fantastic for a long flight! Can slip them off to sleep but quickly get them on to use the bathroom, they're lightweight and easily to wear + walk in, can pop compression socks on and off easily, no need to fiddle with laces at security when they make you remove your shoes...the list goes on. Same for the Tasman UGGs!

Why would I be in brogues or combat boots as an alternative to travelling in slippers or crocs? It is possible to travel comfortably and not look like you're putting the bins out.

I don't have a problem with looking like I'm putting the bins out* while travelling - largely because being comfortable is a lot more important than looking stylish when you on a plane for hours (to me, anyway).

Who the hell cares if anyone else thinks you look awful? you're not going to be seeing them again.

*whatever that looks like. Is there a specific way of dressing for garbage disposal that I've missed?

cruffinsmuffin · 21/09/2023 13:26

@CalistoNoSolo

I manage to travel in UGGs or Crocs without looking like I'm putting the bins out 😂

You can travel however you want obviously, but I've never know so much dislike for the comfiest shoes ever! On my very long flight next week I'll be rocking the crocs living my best life.

Why are you all madly justifying your shoe choice because an Internet random has stated that he/she thinks those shoes are fugly. Bizarre.

greenacrylicpaint · 21/09/2023 13:45

having spent some time in south america and watched one disaster movie too many I only ever wear shoes & clothes on flights which allow me to run and not die of exposure if stranded at the arse end of nowhere in remote areas.

TheLuckyOnes · 21/09/2023 13:58

I don't know what Tasmans specifically look like, but I always wear 'ordinary' Uggs on longhaul flights, especially night ones where I can feel slightly chilly about my extremities. They are slightly more robust slippers, and slippers are entirely appropriate for flights.

None of us are 'justifying' our shoe choice, madly or otherwise, because we don't have to; let alone to an internet random. We're saying what we'd wear and why, on a long plane journey, would you choose style over comfort.

GalileoHumpkins · 21/09/2023 17:19

Goodness no, those things are so ugly. I actually couldn't bring myself to go outside in them shudder

DanielsDancingMonkey · 21/09/2023 17:21

I think they look lovely, but I wouldn’t wear anything in an airport that I couldn’t run in. My last two flights have involved sprinting for the gate after getting held up at security.
