I've done something to my neck in my sleep. I can't move my head more than a couple of inches and have pain between my shoulders.
Does this need a dr? What can they actually do?
I've taken cocodamal and amitriptyline so I just need to wait it out don't I?

Nope. No need for doctors. Just wait it out.
It is fairly common to get a crick in the neck. Usually takes a couple of days to sort out, sometimes even faster.

In the meantime, keep an eye on how you are sleeping, is your head in a comfy position while you go to sleep? Is the pillow not too high or too low?
You should be fine soon.

You have a wry neck. Ibuprofen gel and some gentle neck exercises. If it's not improving in a couple days speak to someone

Do you have amitriptyline for a pre existing back condition? Normally, I would say wait it out but if you already have issues with your neck or back then I would be a bit more cautious.
I used to take it for nerve issues due to bulging discs in my neck causing issues with my hands. If I had a problem with my neck that wasn’t obviously muscular I would be more inclined to get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Book in with a physio or osteopath. GP likely to refer you for physio anyway. In the meantime, heat helps enormously.
