Teacher called me in after school. DD7 is not focussing in lessons. She's said he's too easily distracted and not producing enough, even though he understands and is more than capable. It is a battle getting him to do homework and sucks a bit of my soul away every weekend, so she's making a fair point. He's also been in trouble for talking.
How do I manage this? After school today, he said he wished he didn't have to go to school as it's so boring. He also said that he and his friend got into trouble for talking, but they'd both finished their work. He didn't tell the teacher this as he'd already got into trouble earlier and didn't want to answer back. How do I help him focus?
He wants more engagement, learning in more of a fun way, but obviously school can't give him that. Any tips for us from teachers or parents?
