Mortgage advice re maternity

Hi

Hoping someone can help me with this as can't seem to find anything definitive when I google

I'm currently on maternity leave, have 6 months left. However at some point in the near future (when I'm back at work) we'd like to move house. I was wondering how my maternity year would affect my affordability?

So I'm part time employed and part time self employed. My salary from employed job will obviously be a lot less this year due to maternity pay, and I've also taken 6 months off from my self employed job. So in total, my salary for my maternity year is a lot less than what I'd earn in a standard year.

What happens in this situation? We want to upsize so need to show what I'd earn in a normal year to be able to do so

Thanks in advance

I’d suggest you use a broker, they can advise the lender why your year to date income was lower than usual. It’s not usually a problem.
