Why is my mood so dramatically affected by the weather?

When it's sunny I feel so calm and relaxed. That's whether it's hot summer summer or wintery sun. On days when it's grey and raining I feel instantly really down. I don't understand it. I don't think it's SAD as I could feeling really down in the morning when it's raining and then the sun comes out and I'm instantly happier.

I think a lot of people feel this way to some extent but my moods have become so weather dependent. Wondering if its unusual or if anyone else gets this? I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can do about it anyway.

I'm the same, so much more active and lively when the sun is shining. Not necessarily because I'm doing anything outside, just seeing the light seems to make things better. Today is dire.

Same here, can't be bothered to do stuff when it's miserable outside.

Yup, totally the same. When it rains everything feels so much more unmanageable. But I also don't drive. You can see a general attitude change in car drivers - impatience when it rains. I'm always thinking, well you are inside and warm and dry what have you got to worry about? Perhaps it's harder to concentrate, or it just affects everyone's mood. Imagine living in cold, damp conditions all the time.
