Facebook - @everyone - What even is it???!!!

I keep seeing a lot of posts where people have used @ everyone and sometimes @ followers - what does this even do!!!!

Nothing !! In short lol!!

@ everyone means everyone in the group gets a notification. Presumably the same for fo!lowers.

I think it tags everyone in the group so each member gets an alert as they would if a friend tagged in you in a post.

Not sure why you're so excited.. but it does do something. It's for groups. So an admin can tag everyone at the same time, and they'll all get a notification.

Ah sorry I really didn't realise the @ had any function - thought it was like around 10 years ago when people criticised people for using hashtags on Facebook saying

they had no function - then I think Facebook adapted the settings so the hashtags did work on Facebook then - if I recall correctly. Haven't seen them used recently though
