DD10 always tired but just won't sleep!

Getting so frustrated with DD(10). She looks and is tired pretty much all the time. Yet another morning today where I've had to wake her up to get ready for school and you'd think I'd woken her in the middle of the night. Was 7.30am so a pretty standard start to the day. Last night I went up to bed about 10.30pm to find her singing and just rolling about on her bed, having turned her light off and finished reading 2 hours ago.. basically just making absolutely no attempt to settle down and go to sleep.

Have tried letting her stay up later. She just goes to sleep later. With normal bedtime routine and she just resists going to sleep. Tonight for example as she looked so shattered due to staying awake late last night, I got her to get ready for bed at 7.30pm and said she can read for a while to help her settle. At 8.15pm I asked her to go for a wee and lights off. Just checked again and she's still wide awake just dicking about. So the reading hasn't made her sleepy at all despite her looking completely exhausted right before going up to bed and even admitting herself she felt tired.

Just what is going on? She's always tired but won't let herself get a good night's sleep. She will start secondary school next year and I'm getting worried her lack of sleep will really start to impact her at school and general ability to cope with it all.

Hi dd 10 last week, she struggles to go to sleep and gets up so early it's silly and so she looks shattered too- sorry no advice

Is it an age thing? She's definitely on the edge of puberty starting. Maybe the terrible sleep pattern is hormone related?🤷‍♀️ she used to sleep fine.
