A balliff turned up for my landlord

Can’t get in touch with my landlord but what I think was a bailiff turned up today for him. Thought he lived here, asked for contact details (I didn’t hand them over as it wasn’t clear who this guy was). He didn’t say who he was he just left. He was wearing a suit.

My neighbour seems to think she recognised the balliff as someone who repossesses houses. Surely he’d have told me if the house was gonna be repossessed?!

Panicking now

If the bailiff was there to repossess your house you would have had a warrant hand delivered to the property before today.
And I think the person who attended today would have told you that's why they were there

That’s what I think as well

Theres not much on Google but it appears that tenants need to be given 28 days notixe

I’m trying to find a public register of repossession orders but I’m not sure they exist 🙄

It doesn't exist..
If you call your local court though and ask for the civil court desk, give them your name and address, say you're the tenant of the property they should be able to tell you if there's a possession order as you have a legitimate interest in it.
If its been to court you should have received a few letters over the last few months either addressed to the occupier or your landlord. So if you've had no unusual post I wouldn't be concerned

Thanks @MissLC - I will do that.

No dodgy letters or anything like that. So that’s promising
