I'm showing some overseas visitors around a few of our sites in York next week, and will need to take them somewhere for a quick ish, sit down down sandwhiches type lunch in the city centre. During our lunch break we'll need to head from St George's Fields car park (Fishergate) to Lendal Bridge. So we can get anywhere central really. We'll be walking.
There will be 6 or 7 people, largely middle aged, male civil engineers of assorted northern European natiionalities.
I work in York about once a week but normally bring my lunch or grab a sandwich from M&S. Or take my DD to the Plush cafe, which I don't think is quite the right vibe!
