Ryanair price fluctuations

I want to book flights for a surprise for DH's birthday at the end of November. I checked the price on Sunday and it was great but I thought I would book today when he is at work and no chance of him seeing me do it. So today I went to book and the price has almost doubled!
Should I bite the bullet and book or wait. Are they likely to drop again do you think?

Use incognito browser on chrome, the cookies stored in your history let Ryanair know you are interested in the flight so the prices inflate.
I also sometimes use a VPN to change my IP country as that can make it cheaper too.
But generally speaking they tend to go up and not massively come back down so sooner the better.

@growgrowinggrown
Thanks for the suggestion I just tried that and no change :(

The pricing is tiered so the first 10 seats cost x, second 10 cost y etc (not exactly but you get the gist) they do sometimes then have sales but with only 8 weeks to go it's less likely. Another consideration is the destination, is it likely to fill up?

@gogomoto not looking likely then is it, oh dear. It is Bologna.
I am going to Bodrum on Saturday so I might look then because the VPN should be different if I log into the hotel wifi....I think!

I went through the booking procedure and only 16 seats have sold on the way so I think it must be the VPN or tracking that has bumped it up.

They just get more expensive, the don't tend to go up and come back down again. It's the earlier seats that are cheaper.

WinterDeWinter · 19/09/2023 10:53

I didn't know that @gogomoto - do you know how early the tickets are released? I want to book greece for next June - I could give myself a calendar alert if I knew when the tix would be released!

The prices do fluctuate - go on to Google flight price tracker, it’ll show you the cost of a particular flight & how it has varied to date. You can set up alerts do it notifies you when ever it changes (for good & bad)

Cookerhood · 19/09/2023 11:09

I think the incognito thing is a myth, it's never worked for me.

Arubasea · 19/09/2023 16:21

@ureterr1blemuriel that is a great tip thanks wish I knew about it before!
The price has gone up again now.

I was always told it worked if you just clear your cache. But also their algorithms pick up that there is interest in that flight and the price changes. I tend to always book Ryanair flights when I first find them but appreciate that isn’t very practical. But e.g I’ve just booked flights for Belfast at £16 each way so it doesn’t really matter if I don’t use them.

Arubasea · 20/09/2023 06:05

@Edwardandtubbs i definitely should have just booked it there and then too
