With the slew of Russell Brand allegations to what extent do you thin I the lad/ladette/edgy culture was an enabler for high profile men to be a misogynist and in some cases abuse?

I remember magazines like loaded really setting the culture and it was kind of expected women should keep up the lads with their drinking and sexual banter. I just think there was something a little bit rotten at times under a layer of hedonism. Edgy humour think veiled some really toxic views.

Is this part of the reason Russell could hide in plain sight.....There was just a culture that supported him?
