My Dad has delegated organising our Mum's 70th birthday to me, my older brother and younger sister. Budget is around up to 1.5k. We are thinking of meeting in central London so parents can drop off bags at a hotel, then a fancy lunch somewhere, then art gallery / comedy / off West end show in the afternoon. My brother and sister probably need to head off by 7.30 so we won't be having a big dinner together. We don't want a big matinee show as she'd prefer we spent the time with each other rather than watching in silence. Oh and this is all on 7th October.
So... Suggestions for hotels (considering Hazlitt's?), nice lunch (Berners Tavern? Pollen St Social? Where does really good food?), afternoon activity - very much welcome. Preferably all around the West End, would prefer to avoid chain restaurants. Thanks for your thoughts!
