What do you guys do of an evening?

I'm a bit lost, the kids are all teens and doing there own things, the other half is doing his open uni until 9pm, so I find myself a little lost.
I do walk the dog, but the other half likes to come so we do that to his time scale, which isn't always long enough for me. But now I feel like I have 2 hours of nothingness.
I do read, but don't always fancy it and some nights I run but winter evenings, the dark and the rain seem to pull me down with boredom

God, that sounds like bliss. Could you go out and do some exercise - have a swim, or go to the gym?

Compromise and take the dog out with DH three times a week, then the rest on your timescale. I read, watch TV, see friends, go to the gym, batch cook or work if I'm particularly busy.

I indulge in a hobby that is so embarrassing I will only do it while alone.

Gym class? I’m just finished Pilates which I enjoy. Makes me realise how inflexible I am! I might even book a massage. Massage lol?

Gym, swim, run, cook and do chores.
