Vinted - received wrong item but pressed completed

Can anyone advise please - I received an item on Vinted which is not the item ordered but I somehow accidentally pressed received ok so the order is now completed.

I contacted the seller and basically she’s said she doesn’t know what to do and I should just keep the item and sell it myself.

I want the item I ordered and it’s now not on Vinted, so as the seller doesn’t seem bothered is this a scam? Surely she’s mixed the parcels up with someone else’s and they want what we received?

Depending on how it was sent the seller may have sent you the wrong item or the courier may have mixed them.

As you’ve marked it complete you would need to use ‘contact us’ to Vinted support

Was it a delivery mistake or was it addressed to you? I've heard of mix ups with the In Post lockers but if the label was addressed to you then it's obviously a mistake by the seller. I'm not sure what you can do now you've pressed the Ok button though as I don't think Vinted can help now.
With regards to it being a scam, is it a lesser value item you've received?

@Blossomandbee the label is an InPost one so it doesn’t have either of our names and addresses on it - just a lot of codes which mean nothing to me. The Seller said the item I got is worth double which is absolutely not true - all they are is those cheap polyester Halloween outfits.

argh Vinted have just said there is nothing that can be done, so that’s £9 down the drain. I think I’d rather use eBay in future!

That's annoying but it sounds like an In Post mix up rather than a scam in my opinion. I've heard people say it happens. Maybe you could contact In Post and see if you can make a claim (no idea if that is possible?)
The seller can't really do anything to be fair, your best bet would be to sell it on to try and recoup some money.

This happened to me with kids shoes. I opened the brand new box, saw the immaculate condition they were in and was so chuffed. Went to put them on my DC feet and released they were completely the wrong size. I had already said “everything is okay” so Vinted we’re unable to help. It took forever to resell them and it was at a loss. Lesson learned for the future!

Hi you didn’t receive a pair of trainers instead of a next size 12 stripey dress did you?
