I know him through a sport. He's very active on a club committee. He saved the club and has really turned things around for them, but you can't please everyone and he's made some enemies along the way
I've no idea what the truth of it is, there are lots of peope saying some really unkind things about him, which he doesn't always respond to in a very measured way and he's stepped away from the club completely. I know he'll be devastated about that, it's always been a huge part of his life. I've known him for years through the sport, but we've never been close.
Anyway I messaged him to get the gossip see how he's doing and after a bit of back and forth it's been agreed that these things are better discussed over a beer.
He's a challenging man who's always been prone to falling out with people. I've always quite liked him, despite the fact that I belong to a rival club 😆 He has strong principles and gets things done. I'm not sure if it is a date really, but it will be interesting...
