I recently had a DEXA scan to check my bone density. I suffer with really terrible periods and the depo injection - the only thing that helps - causes bone density loss.
I have a follow up with the gynaecologist who referred me for the scan. They wont give me any results over the phone and the appointment is on the 2nd October. I asked for a letter of the results and the secretary just said that the gynae will discuss at my appointment.
Is this normal that they dont let you know results or is it because theres usually something wrong? From my understanding they're either going to tell me I have osteopenia or otsteoporosis. I have a low bmi which makes me more prone to it, plus the depo for a few years. But im only just 35.
Please help me stop worrying and nobody scare me further ðŸ˜
