Why do people think they know which political party you vote for?

Everyone seems to think I’m a tory. I’ve never voted tory in my entire life. I grew up in a labour heartland. But people assume I’m a tory. I’ve had people say “our party” “who we voted for” etc!

Have you tried saying "not my party"?

If you don't want people to assume things about you you need to tell them

Or just let them get on with it.
