Module for declaration for missing Passport countersign (first adult British passport)

Hello guys,
I requested my first adult British passport but they asked me for a countersign a person of good standing in the community (in a list of professions) that has known me for at least 2 years. I read in a old post in this website that there is a module in which you declare that you dont know anyone who is willing to countersign your password and I also read elsewhere but I didnt find the module. Are you able to retrieve that module?
Thank you for your help!

no alternatives? should I get a lawyer and go to court if I lose money and do not obtain the passport?

Why on earth would you do that?

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 18/09/2023 21:01

Some people really do struggle with this. It's far too difficult

To achieve what exactly? Do you have a job? If so your Manager should be able to do it.

I called the passport office today about this. Was told to write a letter to your nearest passport office saying you have nobody to be your counter signatory and most get approved.

Thinkinginadvance · 18/09/2023 22:37

if I opened a discussion like this it means that nobody will be willing to sign that. and no I havent known my manager for 2 years.
To the other user:I was just trying to find a way to exit this nosense situation.
loseridiot I read that others were able to obtain that without the declaration but in my case (online application) it seems stuck.
You have applied in person, online or paper application? if I can ask. Thank you

I think sometimes you need to get inventive with these things. I've asked a couple of people to sign applications for me/ the children over the years and pretty much any unrelated adult with a valid passport seems to do the trick. Admin assistant at local college, approved, bin lorry driver with the council, approved.

If you've got money to threaten to sue the passport office, just pay for your GP to countersign it. 🙄

loseridiot · 18/09/2023 23:42

Online.

Read your GP can only sign if they've known you personally for over two years.

DappledThings · 18/09/2023 23:48

Someone's job doesn't have to be on the list, it's indicative not comprehensive. They just need tjeor own passport and to have known you at least two years. If they meet those criteria and have a job with any degree if responsibility it will be fine.

Yes, definitely do this. Sue the government.
